Centretown (south-southeast) is a neighbourhood of Ottawa, in Ottawa-Gatineau. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 3,442 living in private households. 10.6% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 26.4% across Ottawa-Gatineau as a whole; the largest single group was Chinese at 2.4%. 87.1% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 2.3% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 15.5% of the population, compared with 21.4% citywide. Median household income before tax was $135,000 in 2020, compared with $98,000 for Ottawa-Gatineau. 41.9% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 0.81 km², giving a population density of 4,228 people per square kilometre (Ottawa-Gatineau averages about 174).
