Ottawa (east-southeast) is a neighbourhood of Ottawa, in Ottawa-Gatineau. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 5,078 living in private households. 16.6% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 26.4% across Ottawa-Gatineau as a whole; the largest single group was Chinese at 4.5%. 80.0% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 3.4% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 19.6% of the population, compared with 21.4% citywide. Median household income before tax was $174,000 in 2020, compared with $98,000 for Ottawa-Gatineau. 4.5% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 39.16 km², giving a population density of 130 people per square kilometre (Ottawa-Gatineau averages about 174).
