New Edinburgh (east-southeast) is a neighbourhood of Ottawa, in Ottawa-Gatineau. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 2,122 living in private households. 19.0% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 26.4% across Ottawa-Gatineau as a whole; the largest single group was Black at 4.9%. 76.4% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 4.3% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 24.3% of the population, compared with 21.4% citywide. Median household income before tax was $114,000 in 2020, compared with $98,000 for Ottawa-Gatineau. 43.6% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 0.32 km², giving a population density of 6,590 people per square kilometre (Ottawa-Gatineau averages about 174).
