Ottawa (west-northwest 1) is a neighbourhood of Ottawa, in Ottawa-Gatineau. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 3,762 living in private households. 22.8% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 26.4% across Ottawa-Gatineau as a whole; the largest single group was Chinese at 7.5%. 74.1% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 3.1% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 22.7% of the population, compared with 21.4% citywide. Median household income before tax was $176,000 in 2020, compared with $98,000 for Ottawa-Gatineau. 4.4% of households rented rather than owned.
