Barrhaven (north-northeast) is a neighbourhood of Ottawa, in Ottawa-Gatineau. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 5,957 living in private households. 41.7% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 26.4% across Ottawa-Gatineau as a whole; the largest single group was Black at 8.5%. 55.2% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 3.3% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 31.0% of the population, compared with 21.4% citywide. Median household income before tax was $114,000 in 2020, compared with $98,000 for Ottawa-Gatineau. 23.2% of households rented rather than owned.
