Barrhaven (west) is a neighbourhood of Ottawa, in Ottawa-Gatineau. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 4,341 living in private households. 17.4% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 26.4% across Ottawa-Gatineau as a whole; the largest single group was Black at 5.1%. 80.2% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 2.3% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 15.5% of the population, compared with 21.4% citywide. Median household income before tax was $101,000 in 2020, compared with $98,000 for Ottawa-Gatineau. 13.4% of households rented rather than owned.
