Gatineau (northwest 1) is a neighbourhood of Gatineau, in Ottawa-Gatineau. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 5,663 living in private households. 16.4% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 26.4% across Ottawa-Gatineau as a whole; the largest single group was Arab at 8.6%. 82.0% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 1.7% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 15.8% of the population, compared with 21.4% citywide. Median household income before tax was $130,000 in 2020, compared with $98,000 for Ottawa-Gatineau. 9.3% of households rented rather than owned.
