Ottawa (east-northeast) is a neighbourhood of Ottawa, in Ottawa-Gatineau. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 5,596 living in private households. 5.6% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 26.4% across Ottawa-Gatineau as a whole; the largest single group was Black at 1.3%. 89.1% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 5.3% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 6.6% of the population, compared with 21.4% citywide. Median household income before tax was $127,000 in 2020, compared with $98,000 for Ottawa-Gatineau. 12.5% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 153.80 km², giving a population density of 36 people per square kilometre (Ottawa-Gatineau averages about 174).
