Ottawa (south-southwest) is a neighbourhood of Ottawa, in Ottawa-Gatineau. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 6,309 living in private households. 58.7% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 26.4% across Ottawa-Gatineau as a whole; the largest single group was South Asian at 15.3%. 38.7% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 2.6% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 39.0% of the population, compared with 21.4% citywide. Median household income before tax was $117,000 in 2020, compared with $98,000 for Ottawa-Gatineau. 24.8% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 2.41 km², giving a population density of 2,615 people per square kilometre (Ottawa-Gatineau averages about 174).
