Vieux-Gatineau (west-northwest) is a neighbourhood of Gatineau, in Ottawa-Gatineau. At the 2021 Census of Canada it had a population of 3,541 living in private households. 6.8% of residents identified as members of a racialized (visible minority) group, against 26.4% across Ottawa-Gatineau as a whole; the largest single group was Arab at 2.8%. 89.4% were Caucasian (not a visible minority, excluding Indigenous identity), and 3.8% reported Indigenous identity. Immigrants made up 6.8% of the population, compared with 21.4% citywide. Median household income before tax was $87,000 in 2020, compared with $98,000 for Ottawa-Gatineau. 20.1% of households rented rather than owned. The neighbourhood covers 1.37 km², giving a population density of 2,583 people per square kilometre (Ottawa-Gatineau averages about 174).
